The OARnet Support Center reports that one of OARnet's Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) servers, ODIN, will be taken offline for about three hours this Thursday evening, 13 June 1996, from 5pm to approximately 8pm, for diagnostics. As our Internet Service Provider (ISP), OARnet provides Miami's primary NetNews newsfeed. OARnet has multiple NNTP server machines, and it is possible this partial service outage at their end will have no substantive or visible effect at our end. However, on the off chance it will, that effect will be a delay in Miami's receipt of new incoming NetNews newsgroup articles from the outside world as well as a similar delay in our postings reaching the outside world.
