In an effort to improve the reliability, responsiveness and robustness of Macintosh access to resources hosted on the Digital OpenVMS cluster in Oxford, MiaVX1, Miami Computing & Information Services (MCIS) has relocated the AppleShare file server formerly known as VAXshare. The AppleShare file server named VAXshare, formerly located in the AppleTalk zone also named VAXshare, is now the file server named MiaVX1 located in the AppleTalk zone named MCISServices. The new AppleShare file server is compartmentalized according to the type of account being accessed. There are seven compartments within the MiaVX1 AppleShare server: * MiaVX1 Departmental for departmental accounts, including CWIS accounts used for WWW * MiaVX1 Faculty * MiaVX1 Organizations for organizational accounts, including CWIS accounts used for WWW * MiaVX1 Staff * MiaVX1 Students (Grad) * MiaVX1 Students (Undergrad) * MiaVX1 Users for internal MiaVX1 and other system related accounts If any former VAXshare user does not immediately locate her or his account on the new MiaVX1 AppleShare file server, she or he should log into the account on MiaVX1 itself (i.e., the Digital OpenVMS cluster) and type MACSETUP at the command line prompt ($) to move their account to the new location.
