Given that I have only received two responses to my query on the language in my 20 sentences, it might be helpful if I amplify a little.

My purpose is to focus on changes in teachers' perceptions of prescriptive English as opposed to descriptive English. I am only concerned with the verbal forms in the examples and as I have already said, it is not a question of right and wrong answers. I am simply asking members to identify any 'corrections' they would make if they saw the examples in an essay.

It would be preferable to send me responses off-list to avoid premature discussion thereof before I have provided a summary of the responses. In that summary, by the way, it will be a question of 'no names, no pack drill'.
