This message was originally submitted by [log in to unmask] to the ATEG
Tom Hansen, from the Illinois State Dept. of Ed,
sent me the Illinois Statement of Standards, including
what is expected on grammar. He also sent a
message stating that I could post it on the ATEG
website. (The statements related to grammar are not
very long.)
Although I haven't got as much time as I used to
for the ATEG site, I would certainly be willing to post
these guidelines and the NCTE/NCATE statements,
etc. (regarding grammar). I'm not completely sure of
the legal questions involved here, but if you want these
things posted, send them to me. We could have a
collection of the guidelines from every state. (That
ought to be interesting).
Thanks,
Ed V.
