David--Wow, I can imagine how difficult it might be to teach these verbs to  
EFL/ESL students!  And we cannot say that McDonald's is breaking the  rules!
 I see more and more psych verbs such as "love' used in progressive  tense.  
I'm sure there is a cultural explanation to this broadening.
