Hi, everyone.
Below is a call for papers for the regional (Middle Atlantic Group) of the  
College English Association.  The meeting will be held at Montgomery  College 
in Rockville, Maryland, on March 11, 2006.  
 
Papers and presentations on all aspects of language, literature, and  
pedagogy are welcome!

ANNUAL SPRING CONFERENCE  2006 
Call  for Papers 
“Transformations” 
11 March 2006  
Montgomery College, Rockville, MD 
We invite papers or panels on literature, language,  cultural studies, 
composition, and pedagogy that will help us explore the idea  of transformations 
within the discipline of English and other regions in the  Humanities. Proposals 
may broadly interpret the conference theme along (but not  confined to) the 
following lines: 
·         Pedagogy in Composition/Rhetoric and in  Literature 
·         Theory/Praxis 
·         Critical Theory 
·         “The  Institution” 
·         Assessment 
·         Literary Tastes/ the  Canon 
·         Technology 
Please submit your paper abstracts (of 500  words or less) or panel proposals 
by Dec. 9 to Dr. Linda DiDesidero,  Program Committee Chair, at

A conference registration/CEA membership  fee of $40 ($20 grad students) is 
required when you register.  Questions about the conference may be  directed to

Paper Proposals  should include the following information:  
• Name 
•  Institutional affiliation (if applicable; graduate students should 
identify  themselves to be eligible to compete for $50 prize for best grad student 
paper)  
• Mailing address (including zip code) 
• Phone number 
• E-mail  address 
• Title for the proposed presentation 
• Abstract of no more  than 500 words (papers at the conference should be 
limited to 15 minutes)
•  A-V needs, if any  
• Special needs, if  any.
