hello,
        i have a question. in the following sentence:
 
"i am sending this letter to whomever may be interested."
 
is the use of 'whomever' correct? it is the indirect object of the verb
sending, and thus seems correct, but might it also be seen in the context
of being the subject of the verb may and thus 'whoever' would be appropriate?
