Count me in on the College English Association presentation for next year! Maybe we could field 3 teams of 4 people each, an increase of 6 people over this year’s presentation. I have invited all of the people who came to our CEA panel to our ATEG conference.

ATEG 25 is coming up on September 5 and 6! There is plenty of time to register and to submit proposals for presentations. The full information is on the ATEG website, but here are some highlights .We will be meeting at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Our keynote speaker is Martha Kolln! She will give us the facts on the beginnings of ATEG, from Ed Vavra’s newsletter,” Syntax in the Schools,” to their collaboration on a grammar conference, to the formal organization of “The Association for the Teaching of English Grammar.” Come to hear the whole story of our past and to look ahead to the future. We will also have member presentations on subjects relating to the teaching of grammar at all levels from kindergarten through college. Finally, we will continue the tradition of field trips with a ride on the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway on Saturday afternoon!

Let us know if you have questions. We look forward to seeing you in Colorado Springs!

Count me in again! This year in Baltimore was a fabulous session, and there is obviously significant interest in what we have to offer!

Hi All,

Something grammar-related in Indianapolis? Fantastic because that’s where I live. As we get closer to the date, please let me know if I can help with logistics, etc., during the event.

Would I have to be a member of CEA to attend?

Hi Craig.

CEA always meets during the last week at the end of March. The 2015 CEA meeting will take place in Indianapolis from 25-28 March. (That is the week after 4Cs, I believe)

Subject: Stay tuned: College English Association 2015 Grammar Panels

Hi everyone! Here is a heads-up:

The Program Chair for the College English Association has just told me that she will have a special topics strand in Grammar and Linguistics for the spring 2015 CEA conference in Indianapolis--and this is largely due to the success of our ATEG sponsored panel at last year's CEA meeting in Baltimore.

Here is a public high-five to our ATEG colleagues who spoke at CEA 2014: Helene Krauthamer, Sherry Saylors, Geoff Layton, Gregg Heacock, and Seth Katz.

Please consider submitting a proposal or a panel for CEA in Indianapolis in 2015 (the meeting is usually the last week in the month, Thursday-Saturday).

The official CFP will be out on Aug 15. Check cea-web.org<http://cea-web.org> for more info.

Hope to see you there!
