I think there is even a larger deomgraphic that needs addressing: The majority of our membership consists of college professors (or so it seems; I don't have statistics handy). We need to dramatically increase our numbers of K-12 members. We are especially lacking in K-8 teachers, the ones who will most benefit from,\ and be most likely to use our scope and sequence project results. We need their input, experience, and expertise.

I propose that each of us makes an effort to reach out to the K-12 teaching community to inform them of our existence, our goals, and our progress to date. We need a widespread, ecclectic membership if we are to make the impact and the changes we desire to make.
