Standardizing the grammar terminology seems like a good idea to me, but I 
would urge anyone who attempts it to stick with traditional terms whenever 
possible.   If the new terminology is too different from the familiar, I fear it 
will fail regardless of its superiority.   Remember what happened to the metric 
system in America.
