Students, this afternoon at 2:00 in the Shriver Multi-Purpose room (off the lobby) Rebecca Jim is speaking. She is an author, activist and teacher who has labored to get the Tar Creek SuperFund site in Oklahoma cleaned up. This is an area of Oklahoma where many Miami Indians live, as well as other tribes in the area. Many children have suffered lead poisoning as a result of this toxic waste left after mining.
I believe her story will be intriguing. This event is free and open to all. Please stop by for a listen if you are able,
MKE
