Dear Seniors,

Woo-Hoo - graduation is just around the corner! Whether you are graduating
in May or student teaching next fall, you are coming close to the
culmination of your experience here at Miami University. Early congrats and
keep up the great work until the end!

I want to refresh your memories about taking required tests and applying
for your license.
You can take your Ohio Assessments for Educators anytime after your junior
year once you have completed both the blocks of courses listed in the
advising sheet for the junior year.

You should also take at least one Praxis exam if you plan to stay in Ohio,
the *Reading Praxis II test, #0204 or #5204 *(one is paper & pen, the other
computer). Any additional MIDDLE SCHOOL CONTENT AREA test you pass will
add to your highly qualified status.

*Applying for your license can only occur once your degree is awarded!*

Please review the attached documents carefully in order to be fully
prepared and licensed upon graduation.
If you plan to transfer your license to another state, go to the website
for the Department of Education *in that state,* and look under licensing
or certification for "transferring a license". Each state has different
requirements.

Sincerely,
MKE
