I just received this summer internship and/or volunteer opportunity (though
there is some payment involvement). This seems like an incredible
opportunity for someone in Social Work/Family Studies/Special
Education...so I wanted to share it with all of you. Scott Osterfeld of
Butler County DD (an amazing community partner) would be the one to
facilitate this connection if you have an interested student or any
questions. Please see below.

 Hi all,

Below is a need for which a family is looking for a creative solution. I
envision a college student doing this where a stipend is paid and/or a
college credit (independent study) is offered. This could also be part of
an internship or service learning opportunity. This is a great
opportunity to impact the family, the 13 year old, and the person assisting
the family in meeting this need. Attached is a copy of a book I wrote
that could be used as a part of an internship/service learning/independent
study. Please consider this and share any ideas you may have to help meet
this need. Also, please share with other folks you may know who may have
ideas.

Mentor for a 13 year old boy with a disability in the West Chester area-
possibly 3-5 afternoons per week while grandmother works. We can use
Family Support Service funds plus an additional amount to provide some pay
(probably about minimum wage) that would cover part of the hours. However,
there is not sufficient funding from any known resource at this time that
would cover all the needed hours. Therefore, a volunteer would also be of
help.
