Dear colleagues:

 

Some of you might have known Shawn Cafferky, who taught courses on the history of alcohol at the University of Victoria and at Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University-College). Shawn was a very congenial colleague who died suddenly at 49 a couple of weeks ago.

 

I am attaching his obituary.
