2008 CPDD URPOP
PRIMM-SINGLETON TRAVEL AWARD
Underrepresented Populations Committee
College on Problems of Drug Dependence

The College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) is committed to increasing
the presence and the involvement of underrepresented minority researchers in
the College. The Underrepresented Population Committee (URPOP) solicits
applications for a limited number of travel awards to the 70th Annual
Meeting of CPDD to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 14-18, 2008.

The URPOP travel award provides financial support to attend the CPDD Meeting
and present current research related to drug addiction and associated
behaviors. Awardees are expected to attend all activities sponsored by the
URPOP, including a short presentation of current research, and to fully
participate in the activities of sponsoring agencies (CPDD, Center for
Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and National Institute on Drug Abuse
(NIDA)) for the duration of the meetings.

The applicant is also encouraged to submit an abstract to scientific
sessions of the CPDD Meeting (deadline December 1, 2007, go to www.cpdd.org)
or contact CSAT for their Satellite Meeting presentation opportunities (Dr.
Laura House at [log in to unmask]).

degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., D.Sc.).
2.	Demonstrated a commitment to research and/or teaching in substance
abuse.
3.	Member of an underrepresented population (i.e., African-American,
Native-American, Hispanic-American, Pacific Islander, or underrepresented
Asian-American groups).
4.	US Citizen or permanent visa residents are required.
5.	Must not have previously received an URPOP award.
6.	Must not be currently supported by an NIH training grant or NRSA F31
