Only a couple of ALSB members have weighed in on the progress the
Affordable Health Care Act is making through the courts. In the
State of Florida v. HHS, the 11th Circuit found the individual
mandate unconstitutional under the Commerce and Taxing authority of
Congress, but severable from other provisions of the act. The
government argues that the act is supportable under the commerce
clause (and alternatively, tax), and that the Anti-Injunction Act
foecloses the plaintiffs' suit. The 6th Circuit, recall, upheld the
individual mandate.

One person referred me to Paul Ryan's health care proposal, but I've
yet to find it in the detail needed to compare to ObamaCare. It may
be there, but I just haven't spent enough time looking. How would
the Ryan proposal be financed, and how many of the 50 million
uninsured and 40 million inadequately insured be covered by Ryan?

I'm going out on a limb and counting two votes against the individual
mandate already: Clarence and Virginia Thomas.
