After birding at Headlands and Mentor Lagoons this morning (with not much action), I decided to
check out Penitentiary Glen in Kirtland. Even though I only had three warblers species, a Marsh Wren
was a nice surprise. It was seen in the small marsh that is behind the group of picnic tables, at the
end of the parking lot. I observed it for a least a minute, hopping from cattail to cattail. A couple
other notables were Scarlet Tanager and Indigo Bunting, which were seen on the Red Fox Loop. Here
is the eBird checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S11501319
Headlands list: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S11500258 Some other species seen by
Larry Rosche and Ray Hannikman were Caspian Tern, Wood Thrush, Veery, Chestnut-sided Warbler &
Tennessee Warbler.
