After noticing a group of 33 Turkey Vultures soaring overhead when I was
leaving Magee this morning, I decided to see what was happening at Maumee Bay
State Park. There, I found quite a few hawks and vultures on the move.
During the 1 1/2 hours I spent there, hundreds of Turkey Vultures passed low
overhead along with Red-tailed Hawks, Red-shouldered Hawks, Sharp-shinned
Hawks, Cooper's Hawks, Bald Eagles, one American Kestrel, one Northern
Harrier, and one Rough-legged Hawk. A lone Tree Swallow and 5 Sandhill Cranes
passed by as well.
