Hi Ted,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I've got bad news and good news for you
regarding Audubon visits...

The Audubon volumes are currently stowed away for their protection while
the library is renovated as part of the overall construction program
currently underway here at the museum. As you can imagine, they are a
highly sensitive, valuable document and artistic achievement. Our set is
additionally noteworthy for having belonged to the Bronte family, of
English literary fame. Keeping the eight volumes protected is our top
priority as construction deprives us of spaces to display the set safe from
the hazards of work traffic and exposure to light.

The good news is that while the new CMNH is slated to reopen fully in 2024,
if all things go according to plan, within the year there will be a new
display space for the magnificent Audubon within a completely revamped
museum lobby. This means that appointments won't be necessary to view the
current page, and the rest of the set as presented within its case. All of
our fingers are crossed that everything comes together as planned and we
will be able to unveil the new exhibit in the early fall along with works
from our Fine Arts Collection. We will be excited to see you then!

In the meantime, the National Audubon Society website has a complete online
gallery of the prints in the series viewable with Audubon's descriptive
text. Link here:

Thanks,
-Joe Tait

Hello Joe
I just finished reading "Under a Wild Sky" by William Souder and when I
googled Birds of North America I came across this link
<https://www.cmnh.org/audubon> and I am hoping to schedule a viewing for
myself if possible. I live right up the hill in Shaker Heights and would
love to see this amazing production.
Thanks
Ted Auch
