The fall migration was evident when we walked at Chippewa Lake in Medina
County this morning.

Three warbler species were in the trees by the Krabill Shelter --
Yellow-rumped Warblers (several), a Palm Warbler, and a Common
Yellowthroat.

Canada Geese and Eastern Meadowlarks were in the agricultural field beside
the path to the lake.

Over 170 Turkey Vultures were migrating, taking advantage of thermals on
the east side of the lake. We spotted a single Black Vulture among them --
a bird we seldom see in the county.

Cormorants, Ring-billed Gulls, and a few Bonaparte's Gulls were out on the
lake despite a number of boats and people fishing from the shores.

All in all 27 species. Quite a nice place for a walk on a Saturday morning.
