Had just a little time at SVWA this morning. Within minutes of leaving my car, I had a horned grebe at the edge of the lake, a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers exchanging places in the nest (Dad arrived, Mom left), an Osprey perched on a branch right next to the bike path, and a Red-shouldered Hawk chase the Osprey away to take its perch. A Song Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow and Field Sparrow were all working the edge of the bike path near the Prothonotary site. One Red-shouldered Hawk was on the nest, visible from the parking lot.
All in all, not a bad 20 minutes!
