My daughter and I had an amazing morning on the main trail at Mentor Lagoons. Thanks to a tip-off from a friend about a fall-out there, we were able to walk among hundreds of golden-crowned kinglets with a good mixing in of ruby-crowns. Winter wrens popped up with some regularity and there were quite a few brown creepers as well. Lots of song, white-throated, and white-crowned sparrows and a few juncos picked seeds along the edges of the trail. A few hermit thrushes, a Swainson's thrush, yellow-rumped warblers and a blue-headed vireo mixed in with the expected local residents to flush out the list for the morning. I hope some other Lake County folks got a chance to witness this sight!
