The flock of purple finches at my home in northwest Hocking County has
continued to increase. Today(Friday, April 19)the number grew to 28
birds, 19 males and 9 females. The birds have been eating in the feeder,
on the ground, and singing in the trees. There have been up to four
red-breasted nuthatches since winter. Recently, including today, there
were two.
