snuck by Conneaut between 9:50 and10:55 today. SPPlover-12, Sanderling-5, PectSandpiper-1, LeastSandpiper-6, DCCormorant-30+, CaspTern-5, BKingfisher-1, BEagle-1, BonieGull-1, GBHeron-2, TV-9, Mallard-20ish Only 2 Canada Geese (and sadly both had injured wings). there were 200ish Gulls about, over half were RBGulls, a great number of imm Herring Gulls. when i first arrived there was a large group of swallows that would swirl, then land in the sand (then repeat) - the group contained 300+birds-mostly Bank but many Barn and a few NRWings. they are starting to set up for D-Day (Fri and Sat)now. on the beach, just east of the gate, there were big, steel-jack-looking tings being set up by what looked to be the high school football team. the beach is all combed and groomed perfectly. they are starting to set up for D-Day now. on the beach, just east of the gate, there were big, steel-jack-looking tings being set up by what looked to be the high school football team. the beach is all combed and groomed perfectly. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST BIRDING @ CONNEAUT THIS WEEKEND!
30,000 people watch the simulated landing last year. http://www.ddayohio.us/schedule.htm buster
