The gravel pit lake on the south side of Roxanna-New Burlington Road, near
Spring Valley Wildlife Area, today has some open water that is teeming with
waterfowl:
mallards and Canada geese, many standing on the ice at the edge of the open
water
redheads (appeared to be most common duck present)
ring-necked ducks
gadwalls
and a few each of:
canvasback
goldeneye
hooded merganser
pintail
