Hi Folks -
Nothing unusual at Summit Lake (Akron), Nesmith Lake (Portage Lakes, Akron), and Springfield Lake (east Akron, Springfield); however these mid-sized bodies of water have harbored quite a few rare birds in their day and are always worth checking, especially this time of year. I did a quick run-around in hopes of turning up an odd scoter or other waterbird.
Summit Lake
Ruddy Duck - 42
Green-winged Teal - 3
American Coot - 80
Nesmith Lake
Pied-billed Grebe - 3
Horned Grebe - 3
Ruddy Duck - 9
Springfield Lake
- completely empty, of birds that is -
Pied-billed Grebe - 1
