I was able to view the Piping Plover, along with Willis Brubaker, this morning. I was delighted that the bird stayed overnight - it seems like the vast majority of Ohio migrants are one-day wonders. We stayed at a distance, so as to not disturb it...and eventually it came close enough to reveal a red band on its left leg. The bird is of the interior subspecies 'circumcintus,' and was more than likely banded in nearby Michigan. It appears to be a female - the breast band and forehead are a bit browner and less defined than a breeding male.

The Little Blue Herons (3 adults) remain at Moore's Marsh, at the junction of Valley and Messner Rds.
No stilts were seen along Prairie Lane, but a Black-bellied Plover was nice.
Thanks to Bruce Glick and the Amish birding community for sharing yet another great discovery!
Good birding -
