Hoping to see either or both the prev reported Henslow's & Nelson's sparrows, I made my first trip to this SP. I had good numbers of sparrows but alas, not my target ones.
V good numbers of White-crowneds, second only to Song. Also had white-throated, savannah, swamp, field & Lincoln's.
Brief looks at N Harrier, merlin, kestrel. A large grp of Blk Vultures were hanging out at the reservoir edge w/some amusing antics. One bird looked like he was bathing.
Many Tree Swallows were around the lake. Only shorebirds I could find were killdeer & 1 greater yellowlegs.
No ducks just a grp of pied-billed grebes. A couple DC Corms.
Beautiful day to be out if not the birdiest.
One other note: on a drive to Akron on Monday, I glimpsed 3 Sandhill Cranes flying NE of Columbus.
