I checked out this Reservoir for the first time this afternoon. Not a lot of waterfowl but I scoped at least a dozen Common Loons, some of whom called a few times. Always great to hear.
Some distant Buffleheads. A small raft of either Ringed-necks or scaup near the opposite shore. Close coots, at least 30. Lots of Canada Geese.
A treat was 5 Sandhill Cranes loafing near the fishing area, unperturbed by either the fishermen or birders. An imm Bald Eagle made a close flyby.
Checked a couple areas for crossbills & Siskins but no luck. Only shorebird was heard Killdeer.
