Today at the Martin-Marietta gravel pit lake (about 20% open water) on the
south side of Roxanna-New Burlington Road near Spring Valley Wildlife Area:
In addition to hundreds of Canada geese, and many coots, 10 species of
ducks:
mallards and gadwalls (at least 100)
northern pintails (10-20)
American widgeon (a few)
redheads (100+)
ring-necked (100+)
common goldeneye (at least 10)
lesser scaup, hooded mergansers, buffleheads (a few of each)
