I had a free day so I headed out to Conneaut Harbor. I was there from about
10:30-2:00. Not a lot going on except a slight movement of gulls from the
mudflat to east of the harbor and back. The adult little gull was there
when I first got there, but then it headed east of the breakwall with a few
Bonaparte's gulls. Bonaparte's flew in a few at a time from the east, but I
never saw the little again. The only other gull of note was a first cycle
lesser black-backed gull. There were about 100 or so Bonaparte's, 200+
ring-billed, 45 herring, and 3 great black-backed gulls. the only
shorebirds were a pair of sanderlings and a dunlin. A merlin flew by
scaring some of the gulls. The only waterfowl of note was a single common
merganser.
