I was afield the afternoons of Jan 1 and 2 and have 35 species so far
towards my January 100 list. Highlights were:
Dark-phase rough-legged hawk over fields near Oil City Rd.
Two red-breasted nuthatches in row of pines in Wooster.
Four mockingbirds at OARDC arboretum.
Seven trumpeter swans, a Cooper's hawk, a golden-crowned kinglet, and a
flight of 32 sandhill cranes at Killbuck WA, Force Rd. "eagle area".
One Pintail at Prairie Lane.
Pileated woodpecker (but no read-headed), plus tree, song, and swamp
sparrows at Messner Rd.
Belted Kingfisher at Killbuck WA, Clark Rd.
