Sunday morning bird walk at CanalWay Center, Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation produced a few new birds and some already here for the spring.
Black-crowned Night Heron along the river
Green Herons in the wetlands area (3)
Solitary Sandpiper in the wetlands area
Eastern Phoebe (3)
N. Rough-winged Swallow
Barn Swallow
Tree Swallow
Brown Creepers (4)
Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Golden and Ruby Crowned Kinglets
Hermit Thrush
Cedar Waxwings
Yellow-rumped Warbler (only warblers so far)
Eastern Towhee (3)
Fox Sparrow
White-throated Sparrows (singing up a storm)
Dark-eyed Juncos
Rusty Blackbird (3) not often see here
Also the Bald Eagle is still sitting on the nest. Thinking maybe this is the week the chicks will hatch. Fingers Crossed.
