For all those birders who need a "Northern Finch Fix", the Cornell Lab of
Ornithology just put online a Feeder Cam (or at least I found it yesterday)
located in Ontario Canada just north of Thunder Bay off Lake Superior.
In the hour or so of off/on watching there were Red-breasted Nuthatches,
Black-capped Chickadees, Blue Jays and a Ruffed Grouse.
Today within 5 minutes of watching the 1"+ snow-covered feeders, about 15
Evening Grosbeaks showed up.
With a little luck, Gray Jays, redpolls (including Hoary), a Boreal
Chickadee and maybe even a three-toed woodpecker will show up.
The address is

Also available (for closer to home birds) the Lab's Sapsucker Woods
(somewhat busier) feeder is also online at

Enjoy!
