This early morning I heard a King rail calling from the parking lot, and later I
saw him walking inside the shelter giving me an incredible view for a good 5
minutes. He was just gorgeous!
From the observation tower I spotted 2 Virginia rails, 2 Soras, and saw 3 Least
bitterns hunting in the pond next to the boardwalk. Also, it was 3 Spotted
sandpipers and a Marsh wren singing in the reeds. This year Honda wetlands is an
excellent habitat for the marsh birds.
