I stopped by Lake Logan in Hocking County today and observed an excellent
diversity of waterfowl in one of the small un-frozen portions of the lake.
A scope is necessary to see these birds and they were coming and going the
whole time. Best viewing is from the parking/dock area near the middle of
the lake. I also heard first and then observed approximately 25 - 30 vocal
Killdeer flying overhead in a northeast direction. These birds were loosely
associated together and were quite a ways up in the sky. It was nice to see
that shorebird silhouette back in our airspace.
