I just came back from an early morning jaunt to check local reservoirs &
"sky ponds" in the farm fields for waterfowl (saw common mergansers, hooded
mergansers, ring-necks, wood ducks, mallards & of course canada geese). One of
the fields close by had a single killdeer land in it. But more interestingly,
we (husband & couple of friends) saw a killdeer in Holmes County when we
went to see the Harris' sparrow on Jan 29.
