Three of us birded for a few hours at Buck Creek State Park this morning.
Even with the clouds and cool temperatures we had a great day. We recorded
85 species including 20 species of warblers. The highlights included a
Lesser Black-backed Gull on the beach and a female Blue Grosbeak near the
prairie. The Willow Flycatchers have arrived. We also saw our first Canada
Warbler of the spring. There are still a few Yellow-rumped Warblers around
and we had a Red-breasted Nuthatch. You can find the complete checklist on
Ebird.
