I spent the morning around areas along the Olentangy River in this north
Columbus suburb, where it changes from a narrow urban riparian corridor to
a green valley north of I-270. I stopped at Antrim Lake, Worthington's
Olentnagy Park, and the River Bluff area of Highbanks MetroPark, as well as
side trips to the Godown Rd pasture and the Rush Run Ravines. Midsummer
meant little in the way of exciting finds, but lots of residents were
afield. Notables included:

Great Egrets - a few commuters, with flyovers at Antrim and Olentangy Parks
Cormorants - also several overflying commuters, but had 1 fishing at Antrim
Lake
Red-shouldered Hawk - an adult was calling at Antrim Lake
Great Crested Flycatchers - good #s with 1-2 at every park along the river
WarblingVireos - birds at every park along the river, with 4 at Antrim Lake
the high
Cliff Swallows - no slouches on this river system, there's a colony at the
Dublin-Granville Rd bridge, and I suspect one at the 315-270 interchange,
as River Bluff had 30-40
BrownThrasher - 1 was singing in the meadow along Godown Rd
Warblers - Yellow-throateds were common along the river, with 1-2 at every
park; Worhtington Olentangy also had a singing Parula
Orioles - Baltimore adults were shepherding juveniles at virtually every
park
