Found a shrike in Resthaven WA (Erie Co. just north of Castalia), visible to the south from Yetter Road. It was high in a tree. Castalia Pond was surprisingly underpopulated - the usual Canada geese and smallish numbers of red-breasted mergansers, gadwall, redheads, and canvasbacks; saw one each northern shoveler, lesser scaup, and common goldeneye. Lots of mist. The mouth of Cold Creek had common and red-breasted mergansers, lots of herring gulls, and five black-crowned night-herons.
