While filling my feeders and taking the dog out this morning, I had 2 red
crossbills in my North Perry yard. The birds were flying from one conifer
to another. Unfortunately it is a terrible year for cones here. The birds
never came low and stayed at treetop height. They eventually headed to the
west. I have had very little activity at my feeders thus far. Maybe if
they were active the crossbills may have come down to check things out.
There have been a few single warblers flying over also.
