There were lots of shorebirds on the north side of Rt 95 this morning when
I was there, though not as much diversity as I would have liked. Shorebird
species seen and estimated numbers included:
Killdeer 200+
Semipalmated plover 15
Greater yellowlegs 40
Lesser yellowlegs 60
Solitary sandpiper 1
Spotted sandpiper 4
Least sandpiper 15
Pectoral sandpiper 55
In addition, there were good numbers of bank swallows massing on overhead
wires on Wilderness Rd near the water.
