I know this list is to be about specific bird sightings but I hope you will forgive me for noting a situation that will not be good for birding. I read in the Columbus Dispatch that the Dept. of Natural Resources has decided to let dog owners let their dogs run free on state park beaches until May 18--when the people might be starting to come. What about the migratory shore birds? This is where I see shore birds in central Ohio. I am going to contact DNR and protest but I thought I would also spread the word to others who might see a problem with this decision.

Thank you.
