Red-wing Blackbirds have returned to the center on schedule.

RWBL have been returning within a few days of Valentine's Day (Feb 14) to Cleveland Metroparks nature centers in Cuyahoga Hts and Garfield Hts for 27 years.

Karen Lakus saw one at CanalWay Center feeder here in Cuyahoga Hts yesterday. And I heard and saw one today.

I know others have seen them earlier, but for me it is a true sign of spring when I see one here at the center. What a wonderful sound to hear them singing.
