Mike E messaged me from Sagamore Hills, "Red Crossbill - just now heard, then
seen flying from one tall evergreen to another. Single bird. "
Definitely early compared to historical dates, but they've already been reported
in Ashland and Holmes Counties this month. Hope they're omens for this winter's
finches.
