I went out to Lake Rupert today on St. Rt. 683 and stumbled on an Eared Grebe! I thought it was a Horned at first, but the neck was too dirty-looking and the bill was just too thin. It was on the southern end of the lake, at the first pull-off on the right (if you’re heading north). It was about 10 feet from the shore when I found it, but quickly dove and made it out to the middle of the lake.
