Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Standing water of 2 to 4 inches now covers 40% (best guesstimate) of
Englewood Metroparks "puddle". Today's count:
Mallards - 100+
Northern pintails - 2 pr.
Black ducks - 2
Canada geese - 4 !!!
Great blue herons - 2
Soft-shelled turtle - 1 very large
And among all the usual stuff:
Song, field, tree, white-throated, and house sparrows
Eastern bluebirds (many)
Pileated, red-bellied, and downy woodpeckers
Northern flicker
Carolina wren
White-breasted nuthatch
American goldfinch
House finch
Tufted titmice
And Lots Of The Usual Stuff (ALOTUS).
